The first opportunity to see a comprehensive presentation of Saul Leiter's work which remained virtually unknown for almost fourty years. Leiter, whom accomplished painter as well as a photographer, began experimenting with color towards the end of the 40s. His pictures tells us how essential color is to these images and even more sometimes color is the picture. Leiter's visual language of fragmentation, unconventional sense of form, and use of found colors and tones are evoked in 168 pages, hundred subtle, painterly images. Signed by the artist.
